Blog v Wiki

Over the years the internet has become an important part of our modern lives. Almost every business has a web-site, every household has internet access. This proves the importance of convergence in today's networked society, where we all have access to technology and wireless networks. Blogs and Wikis have become great tools for everybody to use and new ways to interact with their technology. Blogs and Wikis are websites that easily support multiple collaborators to update the websites without requiring a software.

Blogs can be described as "journal entries" where one person or a team of contributors make entries on a specific topic of their interest, such as describing events, uploading images and videos. Blog entries are written in an informal or conversational style and they are arranged in chronological order, where the most recent entries are displayed on the top of the blog site.

Wikis in the other hand, is a website thats best described as a platform for collectively updating information. It consists of a number of pages that are cross-linked to each other and allow collaborative editing. This collaborative editing is the main difference that separates wikis from blogs, wikis is a site where everyone can edited the content on the wiki website.

Overall, blogs can be used as collaboration when other bloggers interact with each other, one way to do that is by responding to each other via the comment section of their posts. They can also post entries on certain topic that can help another blogger and provide their blogroll or their business website in the entry. Wikis in the other hand already has the collaborative component, therefore, I can't think of another use for wiki that has not been done yet.
